Large Firm Growth

The Law Times has released its annual "Largest Law Firms in Canada" numbers.  While I suspect it's of interest largely for bragging rights between the various big firms, it's also interesting to see how the big firms have been changing over the past few years.  So below, I'll summarize some of the numbers with a few quick comments.

The Ontario Consumer Protection Act is a powerful statute.  When it applies, there are some fairly strict rules about what contracts with consumers must say, how accurate estimates must be, and when a consumer can get out of a bad contract.  It is also something that most construction contractors seem to not be aware of, which can cause some serious problems when a project goes wrong.  But when, exactly, does the Consumer Protection Act apply on construction projects?
